Are you trying to lower your blood pressure?
There are a lot of people in my community that are who are suffering from high blood pressure, and Pharmaceutical companies are making a lot of money from this preventable and correctable condition. In this video, I help you to gain an in-depth understanding of what hypertension is. From here you can start to work with your diet to ensure that you can lower your blood pressure.
This video serves as the information I found though my research, I advise you to consult with your doctor to ensure this is a viable solution to your problem.
Do you need to lower your blood pressure is:
In most cases, you can check these numbers at pharmacies like Walmart, Target, CVS, and Walgreens.
Normal: Less than 120 over 80 (120/80)
Pre-hypertension: 120-139 over 80-89
High Blood Pressure:
Stage 1: 140-159 over 90-99
Stage 2: 160 and above over 100 and above
In people over age 60: 150 and above over 90 and above
The two biggest things you can do to lower your blood pressure:
1. Watch what you eat. Reduce your sodium, saturated fat, and cholesterol. Sodium is often hidden in our favorite canned goods: beans, veggies, and sodas. I always choose frozen over canned foods.
2. Exercise. Commit to a simple routine. Do something that makes sense for your life.
Tip: The workout does not have to be intense. If your blood pressure is measuring within the pre-hypertension stage, exercise can help you avoid developing hypertension. If you already have hypertension, a regular physical activity most days can help bring your blood pressure down to safe levels.
These things will lead to you losing weight. Losing weight is great for the blood pressure. Blood pressure tends to increase as our weight increases and vice versa. Losing just 10 pounds can make a significant change to your blood pressure. A vegan diet could be what the doctor ordered.
